The Unit for Monitoring the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040 has received the Global Distinguished Innovation Enabler Award, ranking among the top 5 countries worldwide for its project “Guidelines for Institutional Innovation,” presented by the Global Innovation Institute (GInI) today.
The award was received during the “Global Innovation Summit 2025” held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, over two days, where a large group of thought leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from around the world participated.
The Global Innovation Institute’s awards aim to enhance international cooperation and knowledge exchange regarding innovation across various sectors. Winning this award and the accompanying recognition at the summit is a testament to the efforts made by the unit to support the objectives and priorities of Oman Vision 2040, which was launched at the end of 2020 under the auspices of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq /may God protect him/. It also represents a significant opportunity to enhance the reputation of the Sultanate of Oman on both regional and global levels, showcasing the results of the unit’s efforts in collaboration with relevant entities to promote a culture of institutional innovation through the issuance of the “Guidelines for Institutional Innovation” in the second quarter of 2024. This will be the first unified guide for institutional innovation in the Middle East and North Africa.
It is worth noting that the Global Distinguished Innovator Awards (GDI Awards) are presented annually worldwide and are divided into 10 categories aimed at honoring individuals and government and private institutions that have achieved exceptional results in the field of innovation.
