This evening marked the conclusion of the fifth edition of the University Specializations and Training Programs Exhibition, organized by the Directorate General of Education in North Al Batinah Governorate over three days, during both morning and evening sessions, with the participation of 52 institutions, colleges, and universities from Oman and abroad.
Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Balushi, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the exhibition, stated that the exhibition attracted more than five thousand visitors in its fifth edition, highlighting its significance for the targeted groups, including students, parents, and specialists from academic and training institutions, in addition to the accompanying events.
Al Balushi added that enhancing the integration between various educational institutions, higher education institutions, and the community has contributed to the success of the exhibition from its first edition to the present, with developments in its accompanying activities, including specialized workshops, meetings, and discussion sessions aimed at guiding students in their pre-university education phase and directing them toward their future university paths based on their interests and aspirations.
This year, the exhibition featured two main seminars that resulted in several important recommendations, including the importance of community engagement with the vocational and technical education pathways implemented by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with its partners, and the need to intensify awareness of these educational pathways across various specializations, whether vocational, technical, or industrial. Additionally, the role of families in guiding their children in choosing university specializations was emphasized. Other accompanying activities were held to enhance awareness among students and their parents, including more than 14 workshops, meetings, and discussion sessions between representatives of participating higher education institutions and students from schools in North Al Batinah Governorate.
