The Social Protection Fund, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, organized today a health insurance conference to showcase best practices in the health insurance sector and enhance collaboration among various stakeholders to improve the quality of healthcare services provided in the Sultanate of Oman.
The conference, which will last for two days, will explore the opportunities and challenges available to develop recommendations for a suitable health insurance model for the Sultanate of Oman. It will feature the participation of several experts and specialists in the health system from both within Oman and abroad, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the sector, as well as showcasing successful regional and international experiences.
The conference will include discussion sessions and interactive workshops to explore ways to develop the health system in Oman and enhance financial sustainability in this field.
The aim of the conference is to engage decision-makers in Oman to ensure the concerted efforts between government and private institutions, which will help design a comprehensive and sustainable health system that ensures equitable access and achieves a balance between cost and quality. Additionally, academics and researchers in the fields of health and economics will participate to provide scientific perspectives on the proposed international experiences, including case studies of successful systems and the challenges they faced.
The conference will feature experts from international organizations, such as the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and the International Labour Organization, to provide their analyses on how to develop sustainable health systems.
The organization of the conference is part of the ongoing efforts by the Omani government to enhance universal health coverage and ensure access to medical services for all citizens and residents, contributing to the achievement of Oman Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
