Musandam
The Ministry of Information organized a tour in Musandam Governorate for 26 media representatives from 16 media institutions across 10 countries to highlight the cultural, historical, and natural diversity and richness of the Sultanate of Oman, as well as to explore its cultural, civilizational, historical, and natural components alongside economic and social development.
The delegation, in coordination with the Musandam Governor’s Office, visited the most important landmarks of the governorate and learned about the development taking place in various economic, tourism, and investment sectors. His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, the Governor of Musandam, presented a comprehensive overview during his meeting with the media delegation today, revealing the strategic vision of the governorate for growth and development, addressing key projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing its position as a primary destination for investment and tourism.
The presentation highlighted Musandam’s strategic significance as the gateway to the Arabian Gulf and one of the most important maritime navigation points globally through the Strait of Hormuz. It focused on the competitive advantages of the governorate, including its unique natural landscapes, diverse marine activities, rich cultural and historical heritage, and attractive investment environment.
The strategic vision includes a range of major development projects, including infrastructure projects aimed at developing road networks and public facilities, enhancing connectivity between the states, and tourism projects such as the establishment of international resorts and hotels, including the “North Gate” project and the development of Malb Island, in addition to adventure projects in Khasab. Environmental and developmental projects include the development of parks and natural reserves, as well as the creation of modern waterfronts in various states of the governorate, along with investment incentives such as special incentives for investors, including tax and customs exemptions, and facilitation in owning tourism and real estate projects.
His Excellency the Governor emphasized that these projects aim to enhance Musandam’s attractiveness as an investment and tourism destination, with a focus on environmental sustainability and integrating development with the local community. He noted that these efforts are part of the “Oman 2040” vision to enhance economic diversification and attract quality investments.
These projects are expected to create new job opportunities, boost the tourism sector, and improve the level of services and infrastructure in the governorate, making it a regional center for growth and prosperity. It is worth mentioning that these tours also include the Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah governorates.
