His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, met today with His Excellency Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the promising sectors for joint investment. They also discussed mechanisms to strengthen partnerships between Qatari and Russian business owners.
The investment climate in both Qatar and the Russian Federation was emphasized, along with opportunities for mutual investment development. Additionally, they explored sectors where Russian companies could collaborate within the Qatari market, including finance, infrastructure, logistics, electric transportation, industry, oil and gas, renewable energy, and pharmaceuticals.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani praised the strong relations between the State of Qatar and the Russian Federation in various fields, particularly in trade and economy. He pointed out the important role that the joint business council between the two countries can play in developing relations between the Qatari private sector and its Russian counterpart.
He noted the presence of many Russian companies investing in Qatar across various sectors, as well as numerous Qatari investments in Russia, mentioning that there are major projects in Qatar that Russian companies can participate in.
For his part, His Excellency Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, praised the relations between his country and the State of Qatar, highlighting the efforts of the Qatari-Russian joint committee in enhancing and developing these relations to broader horizons and exploring available opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the two sides.
Mr. Gruzdev pointed out the Russian side’s interest in strengthening cooperation with the Qatari business sector, explaining that Russia is a large and promising market rich in investment opportunities across all sectors, in addition to having several investment incentives, guarantees, and leading laws.
He noted that Qatari investments are the largest from the Gulf region in Russia, emphasizing the importance of organizing a business forum that brings together business owners from both countries to discuss available opportunities on both sides.
Furthermore, Engineer Ali bin Abdul Latif Al-Misnad, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Qatari side in the Qatari-Russian Joint Business Council, praised the strong relations between the two countries, highlighting the Qatari private sector’s desire to enhance cooperation with its Russian counterpart, as Qatar can serve as a hub for Russian investments in the Gulf region.
He also emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings for the joint business council and between businesspeople from both countries to explore available opportunities for partnership and investment.
