More than 25 percent of the work has been completed on the new Samail Hospital project.

Construction work on the new Samail Hospital in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate continues, with the completion rate exceeding 25% by mid-February. The hospital is being built on an area of approximately 250,000 square meters, with a total cost of over 45 million Omani Rials.

Yusuf bin Yaqub Amboali, Director General of Projects and Engineering Services at the Ministry of Health, stated that the work on the new Samail Hospital project is progressing well, ahead of the scheduled timeline. The completion rate for the main building of the project, which covers an area of 55,744 square meters, has reached 28.68%, while the completion rate for the services building, which spans 6,552 square meters, is at 11%. The construction has adhered to modern specifications in accordance with global standards to achieve a unique contemporary design.

He added that the project will include outpatient clinics for all medical specialties, an emergency and trauma department, a radiology department, a day care and endoscopy unit, a complete floor for obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics, a neonatal care unit, a physical therapy unit, a nephrology unit, a dedicated intensive care unit, surgical and internal medicine wards, a burns unit, a cardiology ward, five operating rooms with all necessary facilities, three dental clinics, and a psychiatric clinic.

Furthermore, the project will also feature service and medical storage buildings, pharmacies distributed throughout the hospital, an advanced medical laboratory, as well as facilities for central sterilization services, medical staff amenities, administrative offices, workshops for maintenance engineers and medical equipment, in addition to a water treatment station, a helipad, backup generators, water purification systems, and other public services and facilities. It is noted that the new Samail Hospital will include approximately 170 beds.

The Director General of Projects and Engineering Services emphasized that the new Samail Hospital will support the healthcare sector in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and neighboring provinces by providing essential and advanced health services to all citizens and residents.
