Al Nahda Hospital, represented by the ENT department in Al Seeb, organized a celebration today in honor of World Hearing Day, which is observed on March 3 each year under the theme “Ear and Hearing Care for All… Let’s Make It a Reality.”
The event was sponsored by Her Highness Sayyida Hajjah bint Jafer Al Said, in the presence of several staff members from Al Nahda Hospital and various officials from governmental and private entities.
World Hearing Day is an annual global event organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) aimed at raising awareness about the importance of ear and hearing health, promoting ear and hearing care, and advocating for actions to address hearing loss and related issues.
This year, World Hearing Day highlights the importance of integrating ear and hearing care into primary health care, as it is a fundamental component of universal health coverage. The WHO focuses on hearing health through awareness and behavior change, which contributes to reducing these figures and improving the quality of life for affected individuals.
The celebration included an educational awareness exhibition with the participation of Al Nahda Hospital’s ENT department, the psychological counseling department, and several governmental and private organizations.
The exhibition featured booths for ear examinations, prevention of middle ear diseases, cochlear implants, hearing tests for newborns, sudden hearing loss, noise protection, speech and language rehabilitation, and tinnitus disorders.
At the conclusion of the event, Her Highness Sayyida Hajjah bint Jafer Al Said honored the participants from various governmental and private entities.
