Oman Participates in Opening of “LEAP 2025” Events in Riyadh

Riyadh,

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, participated in the opening of the “LEAP 2025” exhibition and conference in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today.

Eighteen countries, 1,800 exhibitors, 630 emerging technology companies and more than 1,000 speakers from various countries of the world take part in a prominent technical event in the Middle East extending from 9 to 12 February 2025 under the slogan “Into New Worlds”.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is organizing the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the LEAP Exhibition and Conference this year for the third consecutive time, as the pavilion includes 47 government and private technology companies.

This year, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by “Invest Easy” platform, and 9 government companies, most notably Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), Oman Information and Communications Technology Group (ITHCA), and 37 Omani technology startups are participating in the pavilion with the aim of supporting the access of their technical products and services to regional and global markets, and promoting digital investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this year’s LEAP conference witnesses the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between Omani technology startups and international companies and institutions.

The opening day witnessed the signing of a US$10 million agreement by the Global Semiconductor and Microelectronics Company (GSME), which was established in the Sultanate of Oman in an Omani international partnership, with the Saudi company e-Photonics to cooperate in the field of semiconductors, electronics, and 3D computer vision solutions. The cooperation will include knowledge exchange, joint research and development, quality and reliability in developing advanced joint solutions in the field of semiconductors.

The opening ceremony of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the LEAP 2025 Exhibition and Conference was held under the patronage of Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shaidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications.
