Moroccan Riders Make History Crossing Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter Desert for the First Time
Muscat – The Green March Tour delegation from Morocco has achieved a remarkable global milestone by becoming the first group to cross the Empty Quarter desert in Saudi Arabia on motorcycles, traversing the longest desert route in the world.

The final stage of the tour began in Doha, Qatar, with participants covering a record-breaking 1,200 kilometers. The journey, undertaken both during the day and night, was filled with excitement, adventure, and challenges, adding a unique flavor to this extraordinary achievement.
Hicham Bennani, President of the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude for the significant support provided by Saudi Arabian security authorities, whose effective measures ensured the safe passage of the Moroccan delegation and enabled them to accomplish this groundbreaking feat.
Held under the theme “The Moroccan Sahara Through Arab Eyes,” the Green March Tour has left an indelible mark in the world of motorcycle tourism, showcasing the spirit of challenge and the potential for regional collaboration.
The Moroccan delegation has now arrived in Muscat, Oman, where a celebratory event will be held in their honor. Bennani praised Omani authorities for their warm welcome and the customs administration for facilitating the riders’ journey. He also extended his gratitude to the Moroccan Embassy in Oman for their continued support and assistance in ensuring the success of this historic tour.
