“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”

The Sultanate of Oman’s total production of electricity till the end of April 2024 increased by 1.4%, reaching 11,196 GW/h, compared to 11,036.5 GW/h in the same period of 2023, showed the statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The statistics also showed that the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and A’Dhahirah recorded total electricity production reaching 6,790.2 GW/h. Meanwhile, the governorates of North A’Sharqiyah and South A’Sharqiyah recorded electricity production reaching 2,586.9 GW/h till the end of April 2024.
The electricity production in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah rose by 13.8% whereas it fell by 0.9% in the Governorate of Muscat, reaching 36.6 GW/h. In the Governorate of Dhofar, electricity production rose by 19% reaching 1,618.8 GW/h. Meanwhile, the total electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 41.8%, reaching 44 GW/h.
The statistics also showed that the Sultanate of Oman’s net electricity production until the end of April 2024 increased by 1.3% to reach 10,825.7 GW/h.
The net production in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and A’Dhahirah fell by 2.7%, reaching 6,562.9 GW/h, and those of Al Dakhiliyah rose by 13.8% to reach 9.6 GW/h.
In the governorates of North A’Sharqiyah and South A’Sharqiyah, the electricity production increased by 4.1%, reaching 2,526.8 GW/h, and those in the Governorate of Muscat fell by 1.1%, reaching 36.4 GW/h. In the Governorate of Dhofar, it increased by 18.5%, reaching 1,540.2 GW/h till the end of April 2024.
The statistics showed that the net electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 41.8%, recording 43.3 GW/h.
In terms of water production, the NCSI statistics showed that the total quantity of water produced in the Sultanate of Oman fell by 0.9%, reaching 163,333,700 cubic meters by the end of April 2024.
