Saudi Arabia in the Year 1445 AH: Unprecedented Positive Outcomes and Early Achievement of Goals

Riyadh,

As the year 1445 AH draws to a close, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recorded unprecedented achievements and milestones. Under the ambitious and visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom has made significant strides on local, Arab, Islamic, and global levels.
This prosperous year has seen many goals achieved ahead of schedule across various fields, thanks to wise leadership that has harnessed all resources for the benefit of the nation, its citizens, and residents.
The Kingdom’s prominent regional and global position has attracted numerous summits and conferences held on its soil this year, resulting in important decisions. Additionally, there have been high-level visits from presidents, leaders, kings, and princes of brotherly and friendly countries.
In the following report, the Saudi Press Agency highlights the Kingdom’s most notable events and achievements for the Hijri year 1445 AH in chronological order:
Main events of the month of Muharram (1), 1445 AH:
Muharram 1, 1445 AH:
– A number of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries arrived in Jeddah to participate in the 18th GCC Consultative Meeting and GCC-Central Asia Summit.
– A joint statement was issued at the conclusion of the Turkish president’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
Muharram 2, 1445 AH:
– The Public Investment Fund (PIF) established Sawani Company to unlock the potential of the Saudi camel dairy industry.
– The Saudi Fund for Development signed a $10 million loan agreement to build business incubation centers in the Bahamas.
Muharram 3, 1445 AH:
– Saudi Aramco completed a $3.4 billion acquisition deal of a 10% stake in Rongsheng Petrochemical.
Muharram 4, 1445 AH:
– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the strong condemnation and dissatisfaction of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for not taking the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents of violations against Islamic sanctities, the latest of which involved an extremist group burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Denmark and raising slogans of hatred and racism against Islam and Muslims, in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the capital, Copenhagen.
Muharram 5, 1445 AH:
– The PIF established Al-Madinah Heritage Company to develop and enhance the production of Saudi Ajwa dates.
Muharram 8, 1445 AH:
– The Ministry of Defense: An F-15 SA Fighter jet crashed during a training mission in Khamis Mushait, resulting in the death of the aircrew.
Muharram 9, 1445 AH:
– The PIF and Oman Investment Authority signed a MoU to expand investment in the Sultanate of Oman.
Muharram 10, 1445 AH:
– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Danish Embassy and handed her a protest note against the extremist group’s burning of the Holy Qur’an in Denmark.
Muharram 12, 1445 AH:
– STC Group achieved the highest semi-annual revenues in its history, reaching SAR 36.5 billion.
Muharram 16, 1445 AH:
– The Ministry of Energy: Saudi Arabia will extend the voluntary cut of one million barrels per day for another month, including September, which can be extended or extended and deepened.
Muharram 18, 1445 AH:
– The SFD signed a $77 million loan agreement to establish a solar power plant in Belize.
Muharram 19, 1445 AH:
– The PIF established SRJ Sports Investments Company to elevate the sports sector in Saudi Arabia and MENA.

– KSrelief and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office supported people affected by the crisis in Sudan with $9.16 million.
Muharram 23, 1445 AH:
– Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, signed a sports sponsorship deal with Atlético de Madrid.
Muharram 24, 1445 AH:
– The Foreign Ministry expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcoming of the announcement of the United Nations regarding the completion of the withdrawal of the Floating Oil Storage and Offloading (FSO) Safer Tanker, estimated at 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
Muharram 26, 1445 AH:
– Ma’aden announced its financial results for the second quarter of the year 2023, with revenues amounting to SAR 6.97 billion, while net profit amounted to SAR 351 million.
Muharram 29, 1445 AH:
– The Cabinet approved the establishment of the Insurance Authority.

– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, approved granting 100 male and female donors the King Abdulaziz Medal of the third class for donating one of their major organs.
Safar 2, 1445 AH:
– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in Jeddah.
Safar 4, 1445 AH:
– More than 7 million male and female students returned to schools and training across the Kingdom.
Safar 5, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom officially joined the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), becoming the 96th country to join the Convention.
Safar 7, 1445 AH:
– In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Tanzanian conjoined twins Hassan and Hussein arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, accompanied by their mother, coming from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Safar 11, 1445 AH:
– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, launched the master plan for logistics centers, which aims to develop the infrastructure of the logistics sector in the Kingdom and enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading investment destination and global logistics center.
Safar 12, 1445 AH:
– NEOM announced its global system for education, research, and innovation, which includes NEOM University, the Education, Research, and Innovation Foundation, the Talent Academy, and a comprehensive early childhood to 12th-grade education program.
Safar 16, 1445 AH:
– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, arrived in NEOM, coming from Jeddah.
Safar 18, 1445 AH:
– The Public Investment Fund, SABIC, and Al Rajhi Investment announced the establishment of a leading company in the steel industries sector in the Kingdom.
Safar 19, 1445 AH:
– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is establishing a Global Water Organization, to be headquartered in Riyadh. It aims to develop and integrate the efforts of countries and organizations to address water challenges comprehensively.
Safar 20, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom signed the draft United Nations Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships.
Safar 23, 1445 AH:
– ROSHN Real Estate Group, one of the major projects of the Public Investment Fund, joined the United Nations Global Compact to consolidate the foundations of sustainability in companies.
Safar 24, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America signed MoU that defines the frameworks for cooperation between them to develop a protocol that contributes to establishing green intercontinental transit corridors.
Safar 25, 1445 AH:
– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced with a number of world leaders the signing of a memorandum for an economic corridor project connecting India with the Middle East and Europe.
Safar 26, 1445 AH:
– Saudi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anazi presented his credentials to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at the ministry in Tehran.
Safar 28, 1445 AH:
– The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 World Environment Day.
Safar 29, 1445 AH:
– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, directed the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to provide emergency food and shelter assistance to people affected by the floods that hit the brotherly State of Libya.

– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the positive outcomes of the discussions aimed at achieving a roadmap to support the peace process in Yemen, which were held by the Saudi communication and coordination team, with the participation of the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 06, 1445 AH:
– American TV channel FOX News aired an interview with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, conducted by Bret Baier, the chief political anchor, in NEOM City.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 07, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom won the presidency of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for the period (2027-2030).
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 08, 1445 AH:
– The streets and squares of the Kingdom were covered in green to celebrate the 93rd National Day.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 10, 1445 AH:
– His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of Soudah Development, launched the master plan to develop Soudah and parts of Rijal Almaa into Soudah Peaks.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 11, 1445 AH:
– The People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the signing of an agreement, through which the Kingdom becomes a major tourist destination for Chinese tourists, allowing Chinese citizens to travel to the Kingdom through tourist groups.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 12, 1445 AH:
– Lucid Group commenced assembly of Lucid Airs in its new Advanced Manufacturing Plant, AMP-2, its first international manufacturing facility, located in King Abdullah Economic City. In the first phase, the facility has the capacity to assemble 5,000 Lucid vehicles per annum.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 18, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom achieved significant progress in the tourism sector, ranking second globally in the growth rate of the number of arriving tourists during the year 2023.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 19, 1445 AH:
– The Kingdom announced its bid to host the 2034 World Cup.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 21, 1445 AH:
– A surgical team of specialists succeeded in separating the Tanzanian Siamese twins, Hassan and Hussein, at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City of the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh following a nine-stage complicated surgery that lasted for 16 hours.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 22, 1445 AH:
– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, arrived in Riyadh coming from NEOM.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 23, 1445 AH:
– The Public Investment Fund and the Saudi Electricity Company announced the launch of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company, where the Fund will own a 75% stake in the company, while the Saudi Electricity Company will own the remaining 25% stake.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 24, 1445 AH:
– The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) sent the official nomination letter to host the 2034 World Cup to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 25, 1445 AH:
– The Public Investment Fund announced the establishment of Tasaru Mobility Investments to enable the development of the automotive and mobility sector in the Kingdom.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 27, 1445 AH:
– His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the master plan for the new Abha International Airport.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 28, 1445 AH:
– The Saudi Fund for Development signed a development loan agreement worth $20 million to support infrastructure in the Central African Republic.
Rabi’ Al-Awwal 30, 1445 AH:
– The Saudi Fund for Development signed the first development loan agreement worth $100 million to support infrastructure in Grenada.

– The arrival of the leaders of the countries participating in the Riyadh Summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries in Riyadh.
Rabi’ Al-Thani 05, 1445 AH:
– Deputizing for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the GCC-ASEAN Summit in Riyadh.

– Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, opened the Supply Chain and Logistics Services Conference, with the participation of more than 100 entities and 45 speakers.

– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the launch of the 2024 Esports World Cup.

– The seventh Future Investment Initiative (FII7) forum opened in Riyadh under the theme “The New Compass” at the King Abdulaziz International Center for Conferences, bringing together 6,000 participants from more than 90 countries.

– The Public Investment Fund and Pirelli Tire Company S.P.A (Pirelli) announced the signing of a joint venture agreement to establish a tire factory in the Kingdom, with an estimated investment value of approximately SAR 2 billion.

– The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, inaugurated the Global Health Exhibition 2023, under the slogan “Invest in Health.”

– The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Saudi Arabia has achieved maturity level four (ML4) for medicines and vaccines regulation, the highest WHO classification of regulatory authorities for medical products.

– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued directives to launch a fundraising campaign on Sahem Platform affiliated with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

– On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated and chaired the Saudi summit with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries in Riyadh.

– The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed four agreements with several international organizations for the relief of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip with a value of 150 million Saudi Riyals.

– From among world countries, Saudi Arabia was selected to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh from October 2030 to March 2031. This was announced after a secret ballot at the 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris.

– NEOM’s Board of Directors unveiled Siranna, an exclusive tourism destination on the Gulf of Aqaba coastline.

– The Saudi Space Agency and Axiom Space signed MoU to support microgravity research in space.

– Saudi Arabia was selected to host the 21st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in 2025.

– The Saudi Space Agency and Sierra Space signed an MoU to exchange experiences and develop national capabilities and skillful individuals in the field of space.
Jumada Al-Awwal 21, 1445 AH:
– HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, arrived in Qatar on an official visit to lead the Kingdom’s delegation in the 44th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council meeting.

– NEOM announced the launch of Topian, NEOM’s food company, to establish sustainable food systems aimed at redefining food production, distribution, and consumption.

– The Public Investment Fund announced the establishment of Dan Company, specializing in rural and environmental tourism, in partnership with local communities.
Jumada Al-Awwal 28, 1445 AH:
– Saudi Aramco signed final agreements to acquire a 40% stake in Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd.
