Participants in a training session on child labor have called for enhancing the capabilities of civil society associations in the field of prevention and protection from the phenomenon of child labor. They also emphasized the issuance of practical guidelines to facilitate the intervention of these associations in the matter.
This call was made during a training session on “Activating the Roles of Civil Society Actors in Combating Child Labor,” organized by the Al-Faqih Tetouani Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Integration, Small Business, Employment, and Skills. The event took place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the foundation’s headquarters and targeted associations interested in childhood issues. The focus of the training was on activating the roles of civil society actors in the fight against child labor. It aimed to train representatives from various civil society associations in Moroccan cities and villages.
The seminar also urged the rehabilitation of children who are victims of early labor and emphasized the importance of building personal projects for children as a preventive measure to avoid the risks of child labor.
Participants proposed supporting families and providing rehabilitation to combat the issue of child labor, along with offering social support for parental education.
