The Sultanate of Oman celebrates today the Omani Teacher’s Day, which falls on the 24th of February each year.
In a speech on this occasion, Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shibaniyah, Minister of Education, affirmed that education in the Sultanate of Oman receives significant attention and close follow-up from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq – may God protect him. The educational system has witnessed noticeable development, aligning with the priorities of the “Oman 2040” vision, which emphasizes the importance of developing 21st-century skills and enhancing creativity and scientific innovation.
On this occasion, Her Excellency the Minister of Education congratulated teachers on their annual day, in appreciation of their sincere efforts and the nobility of their educational mission. She valued their role in properly nurturing students and preparing them for a better tomorrow and a brighter future for themselves and this beloved nation.
Her Excellency praised the dedicated efforts to raise the academic achievement levels of our students and the resources and capabilities being utilized to ensure the quality of educational work.
She stated, “Your responsibility today has become greater than ever; the world is changing, knowledge is evolving, and while artificial intelligence applications have made access to information easier, they have also created significant challenges. Education has become about building critical thinking, developing creativity and problem-solving skills, and actively participating in the development of society. Therefore, the Ministry of Education is keen to empower you to carry out your educational mission with sincerity and dedication, providing high-quality training programs that enhance your capabilities and equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to keep pace with global developments in all fields.
