MUSCAT,

Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, is still accepting submissions from local sports teams for the 14th edition of its landmark CSR programme “Green Sports” until 15 February 2025. Teams can complete the application form electronically through: https://www.bankmuscat.com/greensports/. The scope of Green Sports support for sports teams include greening of football fields with natural or synthetic turf, floodlights or water desalination equipment in areas facing problems of water salinity. The Bank has encouraged all interested teams to commence the process at the earliest and ensure that applications are submitted well ahead of the deadline.
Local sports teams play a vital role in engaging young people of all ages. The landmark Green Sports Programme is one of Bank Muscat’s CSR initiatives, which draws from the values of leadership and partnership so as to create a positive impact on Omani society. The programme aims to develop and provide a sustainable infrastructure for sports fields in Oman. The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by local communities, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people. It is a matter of great encouragement that Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme has so far benefitted 203 teams with over 70,000 team members across the Sultanate since its launch in 2012.
In recognition of the Bank’s efforts in this vital sector, it has received the North Batinah Award for Social Investment for its “Green Sports” annual programme. The award was organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the North Batinah Governorate. Such awards reaffirm the Bank’s leadership and commitment to enhancing the field of social responsibility and community services.
