The GCC Technical Committee for Standards and Metrology today held its 40th meeting in Muscat. The meeting was hosted by the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
The meeting discussed 15 GCC projects within the 2024 plan, which cover the areas of irrigation equipment, solar energy systems and petroleum measurement systems.
The projects will be submitted for endorsement by all GCC states, with special focus on digital transition and artificial intelligence (AI) projects. The meeting looked into specifications for industrial robots and electric vehicle charging equipment covering metrological and technical aspects.
The meeting also reviewed projects aimed at developing calibration and remote sensing technologies, including space-borne microwave radiation measuring devices.
