His Highness Mr. Yazan Ben Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, emphasized the need to promote dialogue between the government and citizens in all decisions taken in general and to focus on the highlights of achievements in the areas of culture, sports and youth during the third dialogue session on “Culture, sports and youth” within the forum “Together We Progress”.
He noted that there was cooperation with the Ministry of Education to support gifted people at an early age, and stressed the Ministry’s desire to discover talents, whether cultural or sporting.
He said: “The focus is currently on the Integrated Sports City project and its core component is a football sports stadium, which gives the Sultanate of Oman the opportunity to host regional and international tournaments.
The military discipline programme over the past year has seen the participation of nearly 700 students, an enriching experience that builds, refines and prepares young people for future challenges.
His Excellency Mr. Said bin Sultan Al-Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, noted that the Ministry focuses on investing in the creative industries of the cultural sector, and there are many studies carried out with various government agencies in this aspect.
For his part, His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al-Ruwas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sport and Youth, noted that the Oman Sports Strategy had been adopted in mid-last year and included 4 interlocutors related to society, sports, sports governance and sports economy after studying the reality of Oman sport.
His Excellency said that the final designs of the Sports City project have been reached, and now in the major components phase of the city, all details will be announced soon after the end of the credits, pointing to a decision by the Ministry of Labour last December to unload players in sports clubs throughout the sports season belonging to the civil service sector, and work is under way to study the discharge of players in other sectors.
