The 59th meeting of the Executive Leadership Committee of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) was held today in Muscat, chaired by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed several digital initiatives and the annual report on the final accounts of the Federation’s General Secretariat for the year 2024.
The meeting was chaired by Zakaria bin Abdullah Al-Saadi, CEO of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of a select group of executive leaders from the Gulf chambers of commerce.
The meeting reviewed the initial concepts for the new visual identity of the Federation and the digital platforms that reflect the ongoing efforts towards development and innovation to serve the common economic interests of the GCC countries.
The meeting also addressed the comparative report on the revenues and expenditures of the Federation’s General Secretariat, along with several agenda items and the role of the Gulf chambers in achieving integration among the economies of the member states, through the collaboration and coordination of efforts between the chambers and member federations, and enhancing their capabilities to serve the Gulf economy and support the business community, which positively impacts the economic development of the member states.
On the sidelines of the meeting, members of the Executive Leadership Committee from the Gulf chambers of commerce visited the “Invest in Oman” hall to learn about the services it provides to investors and the available investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the “Khawain” economic city in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate to familiarize themselves with the investment facilities it offers, including tax incentives and foreign ownership.
