Tomorrow, the training camp for the teams that qualified from the first phase of the competitions held in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman will begin, with a total of 1,100 participants representing 150 teams. Fifty-three teams will compete in the second edition of the “Idea Makers” initiative in partnership with the “Qimam” Hackathon, which was launched by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in collaboration with the Oman Investment Authority, as part of the annual “Together We Advance” forum.
The teams competed to create ideas for applicable products across three tracks. The first track addresses the challenges faced by the governorates where the competitions were held, while the second track focuses on addressing the challenges of the companies affiliated with the Oman Investment Authority. The third track involves teams competing to innovate projects that localize technologies related to the aforementioned companies through scientific and academic research.
The camp aims to train the qualifying teams and equip their members with skills and tools that enable them to transform ideas into applicable products, accompanied by a team of experts and specialists who will provide participants with guidance and mentorship through a series of workshops. Nine teams will advance to the third phase of the initiative, which will take place during the “Together We Advance” forum at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Each of the three teams will compete in one of the mentioned initiative tracks, and the winners will be announced at the conclusion of the forum, which is scheduled for February 27.
It is worth noting that the “Idea Makers” initiative aims to enhance creativity and innovative thinking, nurture young innovators to contribute to sustainable development, and reinforce the principle of citizenship.
