The Oman-Saudi Business Council held its first meeting of the year today in Muscat, where it discussed ways to increase export and import operations through the Empty Quarter border crossing that connects the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Ali bin Hamad Al-Kalbani, the head of the Omani side of the Oman-Saudi Business Council, in the presence of Nasser bin Said Al-Hajri, the head of the Saudi side of the council, along with several council members.
Sheikh Ali bin Hamad Al-Kalbani emphasized that the meeting comes in light of the growing relationship between Oman and Saudi Arabia, which is progressing confidently towards enhancing the desired economic integration, reflecting the commitment of the leadership of both countries to develop relations that fulfill the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
In his speech, he stated that the council aims to strengthen and empower communication between the private sectors of both brotherly countries and the relevant government entities across all sectors to develop and protect mutual investments, find solutions to challenges that investors may face, and explore investment opportunities.
For his part, Nasser bin Said Al-Hajri noted that the joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries supports sustainable development and enhances investment opportunities across various sectors, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040.
He added that the council is keen on fostering partnerships between the business sectors of both countries, which represent a fundamental pillar for growth and prosperity, affirming that the council works to enhance economic integration and open new horizons for investment and cooperation.
