KUWAIT:
GCC tourism ministers visited the Gardenia popup exhibition at the National Museum of Kuwait on Sunday and attended the epic theatrical performance “Ocean of the Earth” at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center’s National Theater.
During their visit, the ministers toured the Gardenia exhibition, which showcases the cultural and natural heritage of the Gulf countries, and the latest technologies used in museum displays. They received a detailed briefing on the exhibition’s focus on environmental and aesthetic diversity in regional gardens and plant life. The tour included various sections highlighting native plants, unique ecosystems and a pavilion dedicated to sustainability and smart gardens. The ministers are in Kuwait for the ninth meeting of GCC tourism ministers.
Architect Bashar Al-Salem, Founder and CEO of Kayan, guided the ministers and ambassadors on an informative tour, showing them the distinctive landscapes, gardens and plant life in Kuwait, explaining the exhibition’s keenness to raise awareness about sustainable gardening practices and the role of green spaces in enhancing urban environments.
Organized by Kayan, a leading Kuwait-based architecture and construction firm, in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Gardenia exhibition supports Kuwait’s art movement and promotes cultural exchange. It features artistic works in painting, sculpture, and music, fostering connections between artists and the public. Kuwait Times and Kuwait News are the official media sponsors of the event.
The exhibition also provides a platform for showcasing outstanding artworks and encouraging young talents. Additionally, it includes sections on agricultural products and outdoor garden spaces, along with specialized workshops and seminars on garden lighting design and urban planning, offering visitors opportunities to learn from experts.
