Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), represented by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, will hold a 2-day conference titled “Medical Education Conference 2025”, from Monday 10 February, under the theme “Innovation and Modern Technologies: Opportunities and Challenges”.
Prof. Rashid Khalfan Al Abri, Dean of the SQU College of Medicine and Health Sciences (Chairman of the Medical Education Conference 2025), said in a press statement that the conference represents an important platform for exchanging knowledge and exploring the latest innovations and technologies in medical education.
The participants look forward to fruitful discussions on enhancing academic cooperation and improving the quality of medical education in the region.
The conference focuses on introducing innovative ideas and modern techniques in teaching, assessment and enhancing the wellbeing of participants in medical education. In particular, the event seeks to hone the skills of attendees in leadership and professional growth, in addition to means of supporting educational research scholarships and establishing a network of medical educators who are committed to achieving academic excellence in their respective institutions.
The conference gains special significance due to the fact that it coincides with the meeting of the GCC Deans Committee of Medical Colleges. It therefore provides an opportunity to upgrade academic cooperation and exchange expertise among medical education institutions in the region.
The conference will be attended by five prominent speakers from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands, who will showcase the latest developments and innovations in medical education, with emphasis on modern technologies and their impact on developing the educational process.
The conference will address many topics that reflect the latest trends in medical education, including distance learning, virtual and augmented reality technologies, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical education and evidence-based medical education.
