(BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of HM the King, to attend a reception today for ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions abroad, and senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event, held at Shaikh Hamad Palace in Gudaibiya, marked Bahrain Diplomatic Day, observed annually on January 14.
The reception was attended by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Advisor to His Majesty for Diplomatic Affairs.
During the reception, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech emphasising the significance of Bahrain Diplomatic Day.
He emphasised that this national occasion, designated by HM King Hamad, highlights the contributions of Bahraini diplomacy in advancing the Kingdom’s foreign policy, fostering international friendships, protecting national interests abroad, and championing the values of tolerance, coexistence, and constructive collaboration.
Dr. Al Zayani expressed his gratitude to HM the King for the unwavering support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahrain’s active diplomacy and guidance that enables Bahrain to navigate international relations challenges with confidence and focus.
He commended the role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing global partnerships and advancing Bahrain’s international position.
Dr. Al Zayani expressed his appreciation to HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad for attending the event on behalf of HM the King and for welcoming ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and senior officials.
He noted that this gesture embodies HM the King’s appreciation for the dedication and efforts of Bahraini diplomats in promoting mutual respect, strengthening international cooperation, and representing the Kingdom and its citizens abroad.
He underscored the important role of diplomacy in fostering peace and prosperity, highlighting its contributions to resolving conflicts, easing tensions, and promoting mutual understanding among countries.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the success of the 33rd Arab Summit, chaired by HM the King, and the outcomes of the Bahrain Declaration as evidence of Bahrain’s effective diplomacy in addressing regional and international challenges and strengthening Arab solidarity.
Dr. Al Zayani also expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s ambassadors, senior ministry officials, and staff, commending their dedication and competence in fulfilling their responsibilities.
He commended the efforts of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Bahrain for their contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing mutual cooperation between Bahrain and their respective countries and organisations.
Dr. Al Zayani conveyed his wishes for HM the King’s continued health and long,and expressed his aspirations for Bahrain’s sustained security, stability, and prosperity.
