His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received today the Saudi medical team that achieved a groundbreaking milestone by performing the world’s first complete cardiac transplant using robotic technology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh.
The meeting, held in his office, was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KFSHRC, Mazen bin Abdulrazzaq Al-Rumaih, along with KFSHRC’s CEO, Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Al-Fayyadh, and Deputy CEO Dr. Bjorn Zoëga.
During the reception, HRH the Crown Prince congratulated the medical team and the hospital leadership on this historic achievement, commending the efforts of Saudi talents and their ability to innovate and achieve global recognition in the medical field. He emphasized that this accomplishment enhances health care within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally.
The medical team members expressed their pride in meeting HRH the Crown Prince and extended their gratitude for his continuous support. They shared that his recognition serves as a strong motivator for further success and dedication to the nation. Professor Firas Khalil, the head of the medical team and Saudi surgeon, noted that this honour inspires them to continue their commitment to serving humanity and the nation.
