Bank Muscat Participates in the 8th Alumni Day in Sultan Qaboos University

MUSCAT,

In line with its commitment to enhance its partnership and cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, participated recently in the 8th Alumni Day organised by the University under the patronage of H.H Sayyid Dr. Fahd Bin Julanda Al Said, President of Sultan Qaboos University. The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, alumni, faculty and non-teaching staff of the university as well as bank officials. The Alumni Day stems from the keenness of the university to create an effective communication channel with its alumni, enhance their sense of belonging and offer them a platform to meet and exchange experiences.

During the event, Saleh Mohammed Al Maaini, Deputy General Manager – Capital Regions, Bank Muscat, said: “We are pleased to once again participate in organising the annual Alumni Day where Sultan Qaboos University celebrates its distinguished graduates. Bank Muscat is proud to further enhance its partnership with the university and commends the magnitude of the effort exerted to educate young people in various fields. Omani youth are this country’s future leaders and a source of creativity and innovation. Thus, focusing on exerting the necessary efforts to ensure they receive a decent educational, training and career opportunities is critical to ensure a positive impact in society. I would like as well to stress on the importance of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors in this regard, ensuring along the way to support the efforts of the national strategy for human resources.”

It is noteworthy to mention that Bank Muscat is one of the first financial institutions to open a branch inside Sultan Qaboos University’s campus. This branch offers a variety of services for both students and faculty, including financing solutions, cards, accounts such as Floosi and Shababi with special features for youth, and ATM and CDM services available around the clock. It is staffed with experienced Omani cadres, who are keen to provide the best services for customers.

The Bank actively participates in several events at the university every year including job fairs and exhibitions. Every year, the bank also recruits many university graduates to different departments across the bank. The bank is also continuously offering many internship opportunities to college and university students as part of its efforts to help develop Omani human resources to achieve further growth and progress.

Bank Muscat also continually launches new initiatives to provide the best services to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility and sustainability programmes. Its Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programs in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of efforts to develop sports infrastructure in Omani sports throughout the Sultanate of Oman. Other pathbreaking programmes conducted by the bank includes the Tadhamun programme and the Al Wathbah Academy and Maliyat Academy which are achieving great success in serving different segments of society.
