“Madayn Set to Launch Tender for Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, Boosting Investment in North Sharqiyah”

Muscat –

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) is expected to soon launch a tender for the construction of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City in the North Sharqiyah Governorate.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, Eng Saleh bin Salman al Abri, Director General of Facilities and Infrastructure at Madayn, announced that the detailed general plan for the industrial city has been completed, with all final designs and consulting studies approved, including soil testing, traffic studies, and topographical studies. “The tender documents for the implementation of the first phase have also been finalised, and the tender is expected to be launched soon.”

He added that the tender will encompass the development of approximately 2.5mn square meters, including various essential services such as road networks, water supply, sewage systems, lighting, water tanks, security fences, surveillance devices, and a number of ready-made units in the pioneering Madayn complex, each covering an area of 500 square meters. The complex will include administrative offices alongside manufacturing workshops, private parking lots, and truck entrances.

Abri pointed out that the tender will also include a service building housing the offices for the management of the industrial city, the Masar Service Center (a one-stop shop for providing services to investors), and meeting rooms with additional facilities serving investors in the industrial city.

He explained that due to Al Mudhaibi Industrial City’s strategic location and its proximity to the main road connecting the Special Economic Zone in Duqm to major ports and border crossings in Oman, an area of 100,000 square meters has been allocated for logistics investment to provide logistical services.

Additionally, areas will be designated for agricultural investment to attract investments in the agricultural sector that support transformation industries related to food security in the governorate. The industrial city will also focus on investing in renewable energy and knowledge industries in coordination with educational institutions in the governorate and relevant private entities.

Eng Said bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, said, “The establishment of an industrial city equipped with essential services will significantly support the development of economic activities in North Sharqiyah Governorate by providing an appropriate environment for the private sector to engage in various industrial, commercial, and service activities in one integrated location.”

He emphasised that Al Mudhaibi Industrial City will offer exceptional incentives and exemptions to investors, which are considered attractive and contributory elements for investment.

Shabibi invited investors and business owners to submit investment applications for Al Mudhaibi Industrial City during this stage, which marks the actual launch of basic infrastructure development in the city and aims to support and facilitate the procedures for localizing investments.
