(BNA): Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, met with members of the National Cyber Security Centre.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the National Cyber Security Centre.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended the efforts and achievements that have strengthened Bahrain’s position in cybersecurity and contributed to the Kingdom’s advancement in this domain.
His Highness underscored that Bahrain has prioritised cybersecurity, recognising its role in maintaining security and fostering prosperity, both of which are key pillars established by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised the importance of cybersecurity, particularly in light of the rapid digital developments on both regional and international levels. He noted that cybersecurity is integral to the continuous development plans for all critical sectors.
His Highness said that the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, has taken significant steps, including digital transformation initiatives, to demonstrate Bahrain’s expertise, capabilities, and optimistic outlook for greater prosperity. These efforts are focused on enhancing secure digital infrastructure in line with the highest cybersecurity standards, reaffirming the substantial support for the telecommunications, information technology, and digital economy sectors at all levels.
HH Shaikh Nasser added that this progress is driven by the dedication of Bahrain’s committed citizens, who are achieving diverse ambitions. Bahrain has made a notable impact across various domains, establishing itself as a leading and distinguished model of excellence, while continuing to embrace the latest advancements and best practices.
His Highness also underscored the importance of building capacities and raising cybersecurity awareness, considering it a vital safeguard for the nation’s digital frontiers in the expanding realm of modern technologies. He wished the National Cybersecurity Centre and all its members continued success in serving the Kingdom and its people.
On his part, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed expressed his appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser for his support of the centre’s efforts and emphasised the commitment to serving Bahrain and achieving its goals across all domains.
