Bank Muscat Honours Contributions of Female Staff in Fostering its Journey of Success

In conjunction with the Omani Women’s Day


The Omani women play a fundamental role in building society and developing various fields of the country. Therefore, the 17th of October of every year represents a special occasion to honour and appreciate the prominent contributions played by women, economically, socially, and culturally. On this occasion, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, celebrated the successes and achievements of the Omani female employees in supporting the Bank’s successful journey spanning over four decades. Today, the importance of the Omani women’s role is highlighted by their relentless efforts they exert for developing the Banking sector in general and contributing to the success of the Bank’s activities and operations in particular. It is worth noting that the percentage of the Omani female employees at Bank Muscat exceeds 46% of the total workforce of over 4,000 staff employed at various departments and branches throughout the Sultanate.

Bank Muscat has contributed to empowering the Omani female employees by enhancing their skills and providing them with various development opportunities. In this context, plans are implemented to foster a nurturing working environment and offer training opportunities, including specialized training programmes for graduates and branch managers. The Bank also offers them scholarships for pursuing higher education at prestigious universities both inside and outside the Sultanate. These initiatives aim to empower employees to achieve their ambitions in alignment with Oman Vision 2040. Therefore, employees demonstrate their capability to effectively utilize available resources and opportunities to succeed in their professional careers. The Bank remains committed to providing educational and training opportunities to enable its employees to realize their potentials and aspirations.

Women and Community Building


The Omani Women’s Day represents a special occasion on which the efforts and achievements of the Omani women in multiple domains within the nation are recognized and appreciated. Speaking on the occasion, Wafa Ibrahim Al Ajmi, Assistant General Manager – Transaction & Government Banking, Bank Muscat said: “I am pleased about dedicating a day to celebrate the achievements of the Omani women and their contributions to advancing different fields, which highlights their vital roles in serving the community. The Omani Women’s Day embodies the pride in their capabilities and contributions to developing the country and their crucial role in the renewed renaissance.

Wafa Al Ajmi added: “Today, the Omani women have reached a respectable social status, enabling them to shoulder various responsibilities while successfully overcoming numerous challenges and obstacles. Bank Muscat places importance on its employees, which reflects its commitment to promoting inclusivity and enhancing their performance by providing different training opportunities and continuous development programmes. These development tools aim to hone the skills of the employees, enable them to advance in their careers, and assume leadership positions. We take pride that the Omani women have assumed leadership positions at the Bank and demonstrated pride-triggering achievements. Additionally, the successes which the Omani women have demonstrated reflect their pursuit of effective participation in driving the country’s development and affirm their aspirations to be influential partners at various levels.

Empowerment and Development


On this occasion, Radhiya Hassan Al Lawatiya, Senior Head of Sales, Bank Muscat expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the Omani women for their contributions and successes on personal, professional, and social levels. She stated: “This day honours the Omani women who have contributed to building the nation and have proven that determination and perseverance are key elements in achieving goals. They have also demonstrated great ability to face challenges and achieve remarkable successes alongside men. In addition to being mothers fulfilling multiple social responsibilities and family duties such as raising children, they also assume positions as leaders equipped with leadership qualifications and skills necessary for professional success. Further, the Omani women seize opportunities for creativity and development through various hobbies and activities, such as reading, interest in learning, and participating in diverse social activities. Bank Muscat has played a significant role in supporting its female employees by providing a cultivating work environment and training opportunities that enable them to develop their capabilities and expand their knowledge in different career fields. I take pride in the roles that the Omani women have been playing in the success of the Bank and community service.”

From her side, Fatema Ibrahim Al Kamshaki, Senior Regional Manager, Corporate Branch, Bank Muscat, said: “This occasion is an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the Omani women and highlight their distinguished roles in nation-building, whether as mothers or educators of future generations, employees contributing to sustainable development, or entrepreneurs achieving success in commerce and business. Every achievement made by an Omani woman reflects her determination to become a role model for future generations. Furthermore, Bank Muscat’s support to its Omani female employees opens wide horizons and opportunities and enhances their self-confidence to achieve success and excellence in their careers. Through training and guidance, they realize that they possess capabilities to succeed and achieve greater accomplishments in their specializations.”

Khadija Khalfan Al Rashdi, Head – Asalah Priority Banking, Bank Muscat, stated: “The Omani Women’s Day is not just an occasion to celebrate; it is a call to continue supporting the Omani women and open new horizons for growth and remarkable successes in various fields. This special occasion motivates every woman to pursue her ambitions and dreams for a bright future, thereby, encouraging all Omani women to contribute to the progress and development of the country. The successes that the Omani women have accomplished today reflect their capability to strike a balance between their personal and professional responsibilities. Therefore, I encourage all Omani women in the nation to strive to create a supportive and empowering environment that opens paths for growth for every woman to develop and overcome difficulties and challenges. I also urge them to be part of the journey towards positive change, as supporting women encourages them to build a brighter future. The Omani women are encouraged to believe in their strengths and take pride in being part of the development trajectory that the society has seen today, due to the multiple accomplishments they fulfill socially and professionally. By being determined to progress, they can build a bright future and leave positive marks in all areas of life. Let us all realize our dreams and believe in our capability to achieve more successes.”
