The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 162nd meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
Oman’s delegation in the meeting was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.
The meeting reviewed means of ending the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank. These crimes are ongoing for almost a year and have resulted in the martyrdom, injury and disappearance of more than 145,000 Palestinian civilians.
Further, the meeting underscored the necessity of ceasefire as the only solution to the situation in Gaza, where the Israeli Occupation Forces continue violating all international covenants and treatise and repeat their crimes against civilians.
The meeting underlined that the international community should undertake a more positive stance against what Israel is doing in the Palestinian territories. It also emphasized the need for a two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al Quds Al Sharqiya (East Jerusalem) as its capital on the basis of the 1967 borders.
