Muscat – Environment Authority (EA) is set to kick off its largest-ever campaign to distribute wild tree seedlings in Muscat governorate on Wednesday as part of its ambitious initiative to plant 10mn wild trees across the sultanate first launched in January 2020.
An official at EA said, “The campaign will run for ten days focusing on the wilayats of Seeb and Amerat.” The authority will distribute a total of 30,000 wild tree seedlings from 7am to 10pm at Al Muzn Nursery in both Seeb and Amerat. The campaign, which aims to enhance vegetation cover in natural and pastoral areas, will feature a variety of wild species, including henna, yas, shoa, ghaf, sidr and frankincense.
