Muscat Media Group launches the TOMI Awards: Celebrating Oman’s Most Creative Ad Campaigns

In a groundbreaking move to bring the creative talent of Oman into the spotlight, Muscat Media Group (MMG) has announced the launch of The Oman Marketing Initiative Awards (TOMI Awards). For the first time ever, these awards aim to honour the brilliant advertising campaigns that often go unnoticed in Oman’s fast-paced media landscape.

Star-studded launch ceremony

The brand and trophy launch ceremony, held at Crowne Plaza Muscat on Tuesday, August 27, saw the crème de la crème of Oman’s marketing and advertising world in attendance.

The event was anchored by youth icon and MMG presenter Enaam Al Ruwaidhi. Maria Alava, Head of Manzana Events—a sister company of MMG—took the stage to elaborate on the significance of the awards, while ace stand-up comic Abbas Al Lawati added a touch of humour with his creative zingers. With creativity as the driving force behind these awards, TOMI is set to change the way advertising campaigns are viewed in Oman.

“Creativity cuts through the clutter,” said Anna Popova, Project Manager of TOMI, during the brand and logo launch. “It’s time that our creative talent receives the recognition it deserves. TOMI is here to shine a spotlight on the brilliant, the bold, the campaigns that make you stop and say, “Now that’s clever!””

The TOMI Awards logo: A celebration of creativity

It’s loud, it’s colourful, and it screams “Think outside the box!” With its vibrant hues and sharp lines, it’s a visual invitation to marketers to abandon the ordinary and embrace their inner mavericks. It’s a beacon of fresh ideas, a reminder that the most groundbreaking campaigns come from those who dare to be different.

Transparent Selection Process

The TOMI Awards will maintain a strict code of fairness. Marketers are encouraged to submit their entries without the burden of a participation fee. The process will remain transparent—awards cannot be purchased, ensuring that only the most deserving campaigns stand out. Final nominees will be selected through a combination of public voting and peer voting from industry marketing heads, giving both the community and experts a say in the decision-making. To further solidify the credibility of the awards, a neutral international jury will be invited to deliver the final verdict, with all three voting groups receiving fair weightage.

How to Participate

Marketers looking to register their creative work can do so at https://www.tomiawards.com/

The winners will be revealed in a grand gala event scheduled for November 2024, where the best of Oman’s marketing and advertising will be honoured.
