The service facilitates transactions by eliminating the need of having a physical terminal to accept payments.
The new payment service allows merchants and business owners including home business owners to accept card payments directly on their Android phones and smart devices. All NFC-enabled payment cards may be used for customers to initiate payment transactions via the Tap‘N’Go application. This digital service is available for Bank Muscat and Meethaq customers alike. To benefit from this service, merchants have to open a merchant account that allows business to accept card payments, in addition to opening a Bank Muscat corporate account.
The launch of Tap‘N’Go application adds to the Bank’s growing portfolio of customer-centric services and facilities, including payment options such as Samsung Pay and QR code. Customers can benefit as well from other digital services including, the Soft Token App authentication, Internet Banking transactions, instant opening of Themaar Savings Plan, viewing access for minor accounts, payments to Pakistan and Bangladesh wallet, Speed transfer to Egypt, Friendi Mobile Top Up, payment to government for Value added Tax (VAT), Excise Tax and Corporate income Tax, VAT statement for Corporate customers, Group Bill Payments which allow users to submit multiple Bill Payment transactions in a single click, setting SMS Language instantly by Internet Banking & Mobile Banking, performing QR payment by doing a phone shake, MEDC electricity prepaid & post-paid payment, Muscat Finance and National Finance Loan Installment payment and payments to new educational institutes, in addition to the NFC feature available on ATMs & CDMs.
