(ONA) — The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies today celebrated the passing out of the 11th batch that comprised senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security departments.
The course also saw the participation of officials from ministries and civil institutions.
The passing-out ceremony was held under the auspices of Lt. Gen. Said Ali Al Hilali, Head of the Internal Security Service, in the presence of Maj. Gen Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.
During the ceremony, a visual display was made about the course and the study programmes, practical applications and visits related to the course, in addition to lectures and symposia presented by some military and security leaders. The Academy attracted heads of regional and international organizations, senior military commanders, experts, thinkers, strategic researchers and decision-makers from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.
Then, the chief guest distributed certificates to the course participants.
The course, which began on 7 September 2023, provided an academic environment to stimulate innovation, learning, research and development. it provided the participants with practical knowledge and skills that would enable them to assume leadership positions and actively contribute to devicsing public policies, national strategies and sound strategic decisions in the fields of security and defence.
The ceremony was attended by SAF commanders, military and security service leaders, some members of the State Council and Shura Council, senior officers from the SAF and other military and security services and veteran officers.
