Bank Muscat Launches New Payment Solution with Samsung Pay

MUSCAT,

Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced the launch of Samsung Pay, offering enhanced convenience and security to its valued customers. This step will be an addition to the digital payment acceptance solutions offered via mobile phones. Furthermore, offering seamless payment options ensure that customers don’t need to carry their cards while shopping. The new addition came as part of Bank Muscat’s strategy to enhance digital transformation, financial inclusion and contribute to achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Samsung Pay is a digital solution that provides mobile payment services for customers to complete secure contactless transactions at several online, on-site and in-store outlets around the world. The platform is protected by strong hardware and Samsung’s Knox-based security technology to safely store sensitive information in the device. This includes fingerprint recognition and encryption to ensure users’ important data are protected. The platform also replaces sensitive data with unique identification symbols, which offers an extra layer of protection against potential digital and physical hacking attempts.

To activate Samsung Pay, customers can download Samsung Wallet App from Galaxy Store, log in to their Samsung account directly from Samsung Wallet App to set their PIN and fingerprint, then tap on ‘add card’ and scan or manually enter their card number.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite our customers to take advantage of the new payment service and we assure them that the Bank will continue to work on adopting the latest innovative services to meet customers aspirations and needs.”

Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of the Mobile eXperience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics said: “Our partnership with Bank Muscat is a critical step for the brand as we continue expanding our outreach to consumers in the region so they may avail of next-generation payment solutions. The Omani market and Omani consumers are among our top priorities, and this collaboration underscores our commitment to bringing the latest technologies to Oman. We are currently working to amplify the user experience by adding even more features to Samsung Wallet so that our customers can benefit from seamless journeys, both in and out of the digital sphere.
