Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in Muscat today Lt.Gen Jibril Rajoub, Secretary General of Fatah’s Central Committee and President of Palestine Olympic Committee.
The meeting dealt with the current situation in Palestine, and the ongoing efforts to achieve national reconciliation for the sake of the justice of the Palestinian cause and the independence of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the 1967 borders, which is the only way to end the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The two sides affirmed that the international community has to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, alleviate the suffering of its residents, and open all crossings for the humanitarian and relief aid.
Sayyid Badr praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the challenges. He also underlined the Sultanate of Oman’s firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause.
On his turn, Lt.Gen Jibril Rajoub expressed his appreciation for the great efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman in supporting the Palestinian cause. He valued Oman’s stances in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and its tireless pursuit of achieving just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
