Muscat – The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) on Tuesday appealed to people to donate urgently due a severe shortage of blood stocks.
A statement issued by DBBS said, ‘We observed a substantial drop in blood donors at the Central Blood Bank in Bousher last week. While the existing inventory remains stable for now, the persistent decline in donors, exceeding 70%, raises concerns about our ability to meet future demand.’
‘We urge blood donors to donate blood as soon as possible at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher in order to meet the demands of medical institutions for blood units.’
People can donate blood from 8am to 8pm, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 8am to 2pm on Friday.
