The 27th Arab-German Economic Forum kicked off in Berlin today. The forum explores means of enhancing cooperation between the private sector in Arab countries and the Federal Republic of Germany, notably in the sectors of energy, technology, innovation, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and training.
The conference is organized by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, “Guest of Honour” at the forum, is headed by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy. It includes a team from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), led by Eng. Hamoud Salim Al Saadi, Second Deputy of OCCI’s Board of Directors.
Al Saadi said that the forum seeks to maximize economic relations and exchanging knowledge and experiences between the Arab and German sides, with the aim of opening up new channels of bilateral cooperation.
He pointed out that Oman’s delegation at the forum comprises representatives from sectors of smart cities, logistics, artificial intelligence, investment in special economic zones and free zones, tourism and supply chains.
For her part, Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Federal Republic of Germany, stressed the importance of OCCI’s participation in such trade and investment forums. She added that the Omani Embassy in Germany is ready to provide all necessary facilities to establish joint commercial projects in cooperation with relevant institutions of the public and private sectors.
Oman’s delegation participated in a panel discussion titled “Investment Opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman”. In a presentation themed “Invest in Oman”, the delegation showcased investment opportunities and areas of business in various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
