Doha, December 03 (QNA) – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Qatar University have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the qualification of auditors to practice the auditing profession.
In a statement, the ministry said that this partnership aims to prepare and organize the qualifying test for auditors. As part of this cooperation, the responsibility for the preparation and organization of the qualifying test for practicing the auditing profession has been entrusted to Qatar University.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s efforts to cultivate collaborative partnerships with key entities in the country, especially Qatar University, to enhance the business environment and support private sector entities through the development of auditing systems and the provision of ongoing support and training of accountants and auditors to elevate their academic proficiency and professional competence.
This concerted effort seeks to fortify their capacity to promote effective corporate governance within companies, thus enhancing their overall performance and reinforcing their pivotal role in advancing the ongoing economic and financial prosperity of the State of Qatar.
The initiative aligns with the law regulating the auditing profession, which requires that individuals registered in the auditors’ register should pass the aptitude test to pursue the profession, as specified by the Committee.
In accordance with this requirement, the Auditors Affairs Committee has delegated the responsibility to Qatar University for the preparation and organization of the qualifying test for the practice of the auditing profession.
