Entrepreneurship Summit in Adam, Oman Promotes Small and Medium Enterprises

In collaboration with the Office of the Wali of Adam, the Administration of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in the Interior Governorate organized the Adam Entrepreneurship Summit on November 14th. The event saw participation from various government entities in the governorate.

The summit featured several workshops, with the first session providing an overview of the services offered by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in the Interior Governorate. This included insights into the departments for small and medium enterprises development, finance and investment, and artisanal industries, presented by Mona bint Hamoud Al-Hadhramiya from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department.

The second session delved into the types of taxes in the Sultanate of Oman, tax facilitation procedures, and how to benefit from the tax incentives provided by the Tax Authority for small and medium enterprises. This informative session was presented by Walid bin Hamoud Al-Hajji and Malik bin Saif Al-Taywani from the Tax Authority.

The third session addressed the services and facilitations provided by the Ministry of Labor for small and medium enterprises under the theme of “Entrepreneurship.” Khaled bin Nasser Al-Nabhani and Sulaiman bin Rashid Al-Jamoudi discussed topics such as reducing labor fees and other facilitations in importing non-Omani workforce in certain business activities.

The fourth session focused on the “Empowerment” program, supporting productive families, beneficiaries of social security, and those with limited income. Abdullah bin Salm Al-Draei from the Social Development Department in the Wilayat of Adam highlighted the program’s goals, pathways, statistical indicators, and the “Makseb” electronic platform launched by the ministry to support and market the products of productive families.

In conclusion, Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Zabanoot, the Wali of Adam, honored the participants in the summit. It’s worth noting that the summit is part of the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week aimed at encouraging local entrepreneurs, providing facilitations, and overcoming challenges in the business sector.
