Oman Business Platform Processes More Than 712K e-Transactions in 2023

Muscat,

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) said that the number of electronic transactions completed during the past year (2023), through Oman Business Platform via the front offices of the ministry, departments, directorates, self-service, free zones (Sohar, Duqm, Al Mazunah), law offices, and Sanad Service Centers, increased by 10.68 percent. The total number of e-transactions reached 712,898 transactions compared to the same period in 2022, which was 644,062 transactions.

The Department of Information, Data and Statistics at the MoCIIP revealed that the transactions completed during 2023 through the ministry’s front offices amounted to 22,716 transactions, compared to 24,307 transactions during the same period in 2022. The number of transactions completed through the departments and directorates affiliated with the ministry last year (2023) reached 27,574 transactions, compared to 26,767 transactions completed during the same period in 2022.

Additionally, the number of transactions completed through the self-service option last year (2023) stood at 280,311 compared to 237,989 transactions completed in the same period of 2022.

Furthermore, the transactions completed through the free zones (Sohar, Duqm, Al Mazunah) during the past year (2023) were 653, compared to 747 transactions completed in 2022.

The transactions completed through law offices last year (2023) amounted to 3,898, compared to 3,088 transactions completed in 2022.

The transactions completed through Sanad Service Center offices during the past year (2023) were 377,746, compared to 351,164 transactions in 2022.

The MoCIIP aims, through the Oman Business Platform, to guide investors towards a single platform dedicated to the business environment and to facilitate self-service for initiating any commercial venture for investors from outside the Sultanate of Oman. The MoCIIP encourages beneficiaries to use the self-service option to complete their transactions electronically.
