The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth, and Water Resources continues construction works for the development project of the fishing port in the Wilayat of Dibba, in the Governorate of Musandam. The completion rate has reached 70%, with a total cost of approximately 40 million Omani Rials.
The project encompasses four fundamental sectors, including the fishing sector, tourism, maritime transport and trade services, and maritime security. It consists of two breakwaters, with the main breakwater measuring 1550 meters and the secondary breakwater measuring 500 meters. The port basin has a depth of up to 8 meters, featuring floating piers, a beach for small boats extending 130 meters, boat slides, and a crane for ships and boats with a capacity exceeding 150 tons.
Other facilities include a fish market, an ice factory, a maritime workshops building, storage for fishermen, diverse commercial spaces as per the port’s needs, a prayer area, an administration building, a passenger terminal, and additional service buildings. Additionally, a 5000-square-meter area is allocated for investing in a tourist hotel and complexes of restaurants and tourist services.
The project also facilitates the transportation and trade sector with dedicated berths for each sector, reclaimed areas for commercial buildings, internal road paving, electrical works, lighting, water network connections, and stormwater drainage infrastructure.
