Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, participated in the High-level Roundtable on Carbon Markets and the Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) at the 14th IEA-IEF-OPEC Symposium on Energy Outlooks.
The meeting discussed the latest technologies and exchanged expertise in the energy field.
They also reviewed the challenges associated with expanding the scope of investment in circular carbon economy technologies, especially carbon capture and storage, by using newly developed carbon markets and greenhouse gas certification mechanisms.
Dr. Bin Daina emphasised the importance of advancing regional and international carbon markets for supporting and accelerating carbon neutrality in line with international environmental goals.
The meeting also discussed the COP28 conference, government negotiations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and investments in carbon capture, storage, and use of technology.
