“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”

Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, continues to hand over Green Sports Fields across the Sultanate of Oman in line with its commitment to social responsibility programmes. The bank recently inaugurated the new Green Sports field for Al Wahra Sports and Cultural Team in the Willayat of Ibri at an event held under the patronage of Naser Khamis Humood Al Mamari, and in the presence of Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al Shezawi, Regional Manager – Al Dhahira, Bank Muscat and team members.
On this occasion, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shezawi, Regional Manager – Al Dhahira, Bank Muscat, said: “The Bank’s landmark CSR programme, Green Sports, was continuing to achieve great success in creating sustainable green spaces across the Sultanate. The new facility would help the Al Wahra team develop the skills of its team members as well as other sports and cultural entities affiliated to it. We are proud of the success the programme achieved since its launch in 2012 and the great turn out witnessed every year. I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone in the community to make the best use of the new facilities.”
Abdul Rahman Al Shezawi further added: “Recently the Bank celebrated the inauguration of a number of sports fields’ projects across Oman, including greening of football pitches, water desalination and lighting. The Bank will continue enhancing its role in this regard; reaffirming its commitment to corporate social responsibility.”
Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the Al Wahra Sports and Cultural Team in the Willayat of Ibri, Khalid Nasir Al Ghafri, Team Head, expressed his appreciation for completing their project which comes as part of Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme. He said: “The lighting system project will help the team to further benefit for the field’s infrastructure and it will provide the needed support to organize various social and cultural activities. I am pleased to take this opportunity to thank Bank Muscat for continuing to implement this unique programme to support local sports’ teams and youth in the Sultanate.”
Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programs in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman. The support includes greening of football pitches, water desalination and lighting. The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by local communities, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people as well as the development of talented Omani youth. It is a matter of great encouragement that the Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme has so far benefitted 183 teams with over 50,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman.
