A report included in the 2024 Finance Law project sheds light on significant improvements in the net monthly average wages in the public sector. The report highlights that the average net monthly wage has increased from 7,250 dirhams in 2013 to 8,561 dirhams in 2023, indicating a notable 18.08% improvement during this period.
The report, published on the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s official website, further elaborates that this wage has experienced an average annual increase of 1.68% between 2013 and 2023. This enhancement can be attributed to the dual impact of annual promotions for employees and the approved wage increases benefiting government employees as part of the social dialogue agreements.
In terms of sectors, the net average wages for 2023 are distributed as follows: the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation takes the lead with an average of 15,819 dirhams, followed by the Ministries of Justice, Health, Social Protection, Economy, Finance, National Education, Primary Education, and Sports, with wage levels of 9,842, 9,250, 8,288, and 7,080 dirhams, respectively. These statistics reflect the evolving landscape of wages in the public sector, highlighting the improvements achieved over the years.
