Muscat
(ONA) — A delegation from the Ministry of Interior in Qatar today studied the Sultanate of Oman’s experience in elections-related digital transition.
During its two-day visit to Oman, the Qatari delegation watched a visual presentation about the digitization of elections. The presentation outlined various stages of the electoral process, including voter enrolment in the Electoral Register, transfer of voter/candidacy files, automation of electoral services and mechanisms of balloting and sorting of votes.
The visual presentation also touched on online voting through “Intakhib” (Elect) app, an application exclusively dedicated to voting. Intakhib is unique in terms of ease of use and speed of performance. Thanks to its artificial intelligence (AI) features, Intakhib constitutes a step forward in the electoral process.
