“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”

The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) and the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) launched a new session of the Government Innovation Leaders Program on Sunday that will continue until September 21.
The program aims to inspire participants, enhance their capabilities, give them the tools they need to contribute to advancing innovation, enable them to manage innovation projects in their organizations and become leaders in the field of innovation.
Director of the Training and Career Development Department at the CGB’s Institute of Public Administration Maha Masoud Al Marri expressed her happiness with the national competencies participating in the third session of the Government Innovation Leaders Program.
The CGB aims through the program to support and encourage innovation and excellence in providing services, improve the use of available resources, facilitate procedures, improve government institutional performance by finding innovative solutions through interactive workshops based on advanced technology, as well as qualifying and training government sector employees to provide the best services and to transfer knowledge to their employers, Al Marri explained.
On her part, the Director of the QRDI’s Research, Development and Innovation Programs Department Nada Al Awlaki expressed her pleasure at the holding of the third session of the program in partnership with the CGB.
Al Awlaki added that this program is considered one of the important programs and initiatives launched by the CGB and the QRDI to enhance innovation culture and develop innovation ecosystem in Qatar in the public and private sectors, which represent a key aspect of the QRDI Strategy 2030.
Participants in the program include heads of sections and directors of departments concerned with research from nineteen ministries and government agencies in Qatar.
The program was developed by the CGB and the QRDI in partnership with the Averroes Business Advisory & Services and the GInI, which specializes in providing resources and support to individuals and institutions to develop their innovation capabilities, help the innovation of the public sector and provide the best services.
In this session of the program, the focus will be on enhancing the innovative capabilities of participants to further develop the innovative system as pioneers of government innovation in various institutions.
The five-day program will include lectures, open discussions, practical activities, and workshops with local and international experts in the field of government innovation and development.
It will cover several topics, most notably the concept of government innovation and its foundations, the skills necessary to create innovation opportunities and innovation management.
Participants will be trained in brainstorming and idea generation, design thinking and human-centered design as well as ways to finance innovation programs.
The Government Innovation Leaders Program is an important strategic step towards promoting a culture of innovation in the government sector, exchanging experiences and ideas related to the development and management of government innovation teams, as well as enabling this sector to build effective partnerships with other sectors to ensure the existence of an integrated and vital system for innovation in Qatar, as government agencies play an important and key role in leading efforts to build an economy based on knowledge and innovation, which is one of the most important goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
