General Secretariat – Doha
A delegation from the Patents Office of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) visited the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar.
During the visit, a presentation was given on the mechanism of utilizing the services of the office, which includes receiving patent applications, conducting formal and technical examination, and the related procedures, including electronic linkage between the two parties. This is in accordance with Article 1 of the GCC Patent Law. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the possibility of the office examining patent applications filed with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar, in accordance with the Qatar Patent Law. This aims to enhance the joint Gulf cooperation in the field of patents.
