“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”
The official Kuwaiti News Agency stated, “An Amiri decree has been issued appointing His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the Prime Minister and assigning him the task of nominating the members of the new Cabinet.”
The Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan had announced on June 7th that the resignation of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had been accepted and that they would continue to carry out urgent matters until the formation of the new Cabinet.
The Amiri decree at that time included three articles, which were as follows:
Article 1: Accepting the resignation of Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister and the Ministers, while each of them continues to perform the urgent affairs of their positions until the formation of the new Cabinet.
Article 2: Our decree shall be submitted to the National Assembly and shall be effective from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.
The resignation of the Kuwaiti government came after the announcement of the parliamentary election results, which is followed by the resignation of the government and the assignment of a new government, in accordance with Article 57 of the Constitution
