“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”
Muscat: The projected plans for 2019 are expected to create more jobs for Omanis according to the Minister of Transport and Communication.
His Excellency Dr Ahmed Al Futaisi, the Minister of Transport and Communications said in a press conference: “ In the transport and road sector we are planning on opening part one and two of the Adam -Thamrait dual carriage road before Khareef season begins.”
Looking at the aviation sector the minister said: “We will begin implementing the plan to re-use the old Muscat Airport.” Additionally the ministry plans to “ begin the second phase research on the operation of Musandam Airport.” With regards to the plans in the logistics sector the minister said: “2019 will see the operation and development of Khasab and Shinas ports by Marafi management company.” A total of 3,500 people were employed in the logistic sector in 2018. Over all the ministry plans to create 2,500 jobs for Omanis in the logistics sector.(Times of Oman)
