Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, today received the national Paralympic teams following their success in winning 36 medals at the 4th West Asian Para Games, held in the Sharjah, UAE.
HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised that Bahrainis consistently overcome challenges to create inspiring success stories and achievements to raise the kingdom’s status.
HH Shaikh Khalid praised the Paralympic national teams’ success, citing Bahrain’s delegation’s tally of 36 medals, including 10 gold, 7 silvers, and 19 bronze medals.
HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the sports movement in Bahrain has achieved significant success, thanks to the care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, and the interest of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Paralympic Committee Chairman, for the achievement which adds to the landmark accomplishments of Bahrain’ Paralympic athletes.
HH Shaikh Khalid commended the outstanding performance of both male and female Paralympic athletes, who had won 36 medals.
HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised the need for continued support and care to enhance the Bahraini Paralympic movement and attain more honourable achievements for the kingdom.
