(QNA) – HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi affirmed the importance of the complementary role between schools, families, and other groups of the society in achieving the goals of education.
This came during the Ministers visit to a number of government schools to participate in the activities and events organized in celebration of the International Day of Education marked under the theme “Education is Everyone’s Responsibility.” The visit included Al Falah Primary School for Girls, Qatar Preparatory Schools for Girls, and Umm Al-Qura Primary School for Boys, where HE the Minister met with students, their parents, teachers, and school administrators.
The activities included theatrical performances in astronomy, various scientific experiments in science laboratories, and awareness workshops on healthy nutrition and sound agricultural methods, among others, which were characterized by interest and interaction from students and the participation of parents who expressed their happiness with their children.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) supports the events and activities of the International Day of Education, which continue until Thursday, based on its continued keenness to improve the educational process and strengthen community partnership regarding it.
The International Day of Education, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2018 to be celebrated on Jan. 24 annually, is an occasion that emphasizes, among other things, the role of basic education in achieving the goals of sustainable development, highlighting the individuals right to education, honoring teachers and learners, and building and strengthening partnerships between schools and families to improve the quality of education and improve student performance.
